POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the material movement within the manufacturing area and subassembly warehouse. Support the Production Supervisor/Manager with the day-to-day management of the material areas, overseeing a group of team members, and ensuring a safe efficient operation while achieving business targets. Provide leadership and line management to the team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any issues, and updating on any material discrepancies.
Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, fostering a culture of working safely. Work under general supervision, reviewed by Management. Decisions and results have an impact on the function and their success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
General and Task Management
- Work to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while adhering to safety standards
- Ensure full adherence to lean manufacturing and supporting a positive work culture
- Ensure all documents are completed by the end of shift
- Ensure the team members are aware of day-to-day targets and responsibilities
- Manage work order closures, stock putaway & stock control transactions
- Monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools
- Manage with a continuous improvement mind set
- Verify that production is getting claimed and put away correctly and reconcile with Oracle
- Ensure that labels are being printed correctly for jobs and know how to troubleshoot issues
People Management
- Responsible for training of material handlers for processes within the local team
- Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success
- Responsible for Level 1 disciplinary actions, and coaching for individuals on their team
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company procedures
- Assist in conducting incident, accident, and non-conformity investigations
- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them
- Communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware of expectations and deliverables
- Work positively with support functions to fully define the processes relevant to team activities
- Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the team
Relationship Management
- Communicate with other material leads/supervisors to ensure an effective interface is maintained
- Feedback to the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements and delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Must be able to read, comprehend, write, and communicate in English

- Must be able to provide training and give direction material handling areas
- Must be able to navigate Mattec and Oracle.
- Must be able to navigate label printer interface & troubleshoot any issues.
- Must be able to professionally communicate with supervisors and other team members.
- Must be able to keep area clean and organized.
- Must have a positive attitude and have a sense of urgency.
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years leadership experience
