Summary : The Senior National Account Manager will drive profitable business growth across all Petmate product segments within the Canadian market. This role involves strategic business planning, managing the sales pipeline, leading the sales process, negotiating and closing deals, defining marketing and support requirements, and overseeing both direct and indirect sales channels.

Must live in Toronto, Canada

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and distributors to drive sales growth, understand business needs, and exceed targets.
  • Leads the Business Planning Cycle with customers and distributors that measures / communicates each partner’s activities against mutually agreed upon KPI’s.
  • Collaborate with product management and channel marketing teams to align pricing, promotional, and merchandising strategies with sales goals.
  • Prepare presentations and proposals and negotiate sales contracts while identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities.
  • Develop and manage accurate sales forecasts to support demand planning and production.
  • Proactively identify and resolve customer concerns.
  • Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events, demonstrations and seminars.
  • Meet Company sales goals (monthly, quarterly and / annually) as established.
  • Manage the sales pipeline, monitor key metrics and assess performance against established targets.
  • Represent the requirements of the customer to the internal organization.
  • Gathers market, competitor and customer data while executing product and marketing strategy.
  • Communicates new product / service opportunities and special developments to key stakeholders within the company.

Education and / or Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) and 5-7 years of relevant experience in CPG, wholesale distribution, channel management, or a related field. Pet industry experience a plus.
  • Skills and Competencies :

  • Proficient in business analytics, with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and support data-driven decision making to drive strategic growth.
  • Experience in managing sales budgets and accurately forecasting revenue.
  • Strong sales, customer service, and consultative sales skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel.
  • Competence in the development and delivery of presentations.
  • Passionate, determined and resourceful.
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to dig down into details while retaining a sense of the broader picture are essential.
  • Travel Requirement :

  • Travel throughout Canada is required (estimated 25-30%).
