Maintenance Lead Technician is responsible for the organization, planning, implementation and measurement of all maintenance activities within a specific production department. Leadership will be demonstrated by proficient maintenance of manufacturing equipment, performing equipment repairs as requested and prioritized by management, working on PLCs, and recording all work activities in work order module of the computerized maintenance management systems.
This position is on night shift, M-F schedule, 8p-5a.
Job Location / Working Conditions / Equipment:
Production setting operating standard manual and powered equipment including but not limited to welding, machining, power tools, and hand tools. Physically capable of standing 12 hours per day, frequent bending twisting and reaching, lifting of approximately 50-100 lbs and climbing up to 60' towers. Able to work in hot and cold conditions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
All Duties and Responsibilities of the Maintenance Tech Position plus
- Lead weekly meetings with department managers, supervisors, leads and PM crew focused on prioritizing work load, managing work order back log and continuous improvement.
- Ensure proper spare part min/max and reorder levels for department equipment.
- Work with production to drive CIS and KPI goals.
- Create/improve operator and maintenance departmental PM's.
- Sign off on maintenance PM activity including working off work orders, attaching parts, updating and closing work orders.
- Lead PM crew on department activities
- Provide operator equipment training when needed.
- Plan daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual maintenance activities including manning, parts and equipment.
- Ensure drawings, programs and manuals are accurate, available and complete.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
- Two year technical degree and/or 3 years industrial equipment maintenance experience in manufacturing
- Mechanical and electrical abilities
- PMC or other Maintenance specific software database
- Commitment to safety and quality
- PLC troubleshooting and installing
- Proven track record of excellent attendance
- Hydraulic and pneumatics experience
- Self directed with good time management skills
- Able to work in a team environment
Required Licensure / Certification Registration:
Forklift certification, trade school desirable
