Position Overview: The Landscape Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep of landscapes, including mowing, trimming, planting, fertilizing, and general grounds maintenance. They work independently or as part of a team to maintain the aesthetic and health of landscapes, ensuring they meet the client's standards. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and knowledge of horticulture and landscaping practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mow lawns, trim shrubs, and maintain the overall appearance of landscape areas.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as needed to ensure healthy plant growth.
- Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges to maintain their shape and health.
- Mulch flower beds and garden areas.
- Assist with planting new flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring everything is in working order.
- Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and edging tools.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including treatments and maintenance schedules.
- Communicate with supervisors or clients to discuss landscaping needs, improvements, or issues.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or a related field.
- Knowledge of plants, flowers, trees, and landscape design principles.
- Familiarity with the use of landscaping equipment such as mowers, blowers, and trimmers.
- Basic understanding of lawn care techniques (e.g., fertilization, watering, weed control).
- Ability to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
- Comfort with working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
Work Environment:
- Primarily outdoors in residential, commercial, or public spaces.

- Occasional overtime or weekend work depending on client schedules or seasonal needs.
