SUMMARY:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, driven, self-motivated professional to join our team. We are an Alaskan business seeking top quality professionals. Facilitate the onboarding of employees to support our hiring managers in filling open positions, with the continuing goal of finding the best team members for our company. Serving as a liaison between new team members and hiring managers by coordinating the process from beginning-to-end to ensure a smooth onboarding process and completion of necessary documentation. Screen applicants, order background check, monitor pre-employment drug test results, issue training classes and assist with our online onboarding process. Assist with Offboarding process in closing out employee's file and termination from the system. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Discuss and establish qualification requirements and terms and conditions of employment with hiring managers.
- Work with hiring managers to screen applicants and monitor successful completion of pre-employment testing.
- Issue emails to new hires to complete their online onboarding and following up with candidates during the hiring process on necessary documentation and training.
- Assist new employees with any questions.
- Assist hiring managers with interviewing and checking references for qualified candidates while maintaining a database of potential candidates for future vacancies.
- Maintain I-9 files and documentation.
- Maintain employee personnel & confidential files.
- Assist with Offboarding to keep files and online payroll system current in processing employees' terminations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to maintain organization while multi-tasking is critical.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be effective in oral and written communication.
- Excellent analytical skills to examine resumes and find the best-suited candidates.
- Requires a working knowledge of Alaska Department of Labor and IRS compliance requirements. Must be familiar with Alaska law and federal HR law relating to personnel.
- Must be familiar with current hiring trends.
- Must be capable of working effectively under time constraints.
- Requires thorough understanding of e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of onboarding experience. The equivalent of an associate degree demonstrating training and education beyond high school. Regular attendance in an office environment is required for this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulatory compliance instructions. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees or service providers. Ability to write and effectively communicate utilizing e-mail. Ability to communicate effectively with all employees and management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Individual may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file paperwork. Proper lifting techniques required. Must be able to occasionally lift 30 lbs., routinely lift 10 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
For the most part, exposure is ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
