Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator

The Purchasing & Inventory Specialist for Railcar Repair is responsible for implementing the procurement and inventory processes to support railcar repair operations. This role ensures the availability of required materials, tools, and supplies while optimizing costs and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent and reliable sourcing of materials.
- Prepare purchase orders, negotiate pricing, and coordinate delivery schedules.
- Monitor purchasing budgets and seek opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Identify new suppliers and assess their suitability based on quality, reliability, and cost.
- Track inventory levels and monitor stock to meet production and repair demands.
- Conduct regular inventory counts to ensure records match physical stock.
- Support the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements, usage, and adjustments.
- Schedule and track shipments to ensure timely arrival of goods.
- Address delivery issues, including delays, damaged goods, or incorrect orders.
- Maintain records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory transactions.
