Job Overview:
This full-time role is for a Purchasing Agent/Inventory Control specialist located on-site at 14601 Bellaire Blvd, Houston TX 77083. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for negotiating and procuring goods and services for our organization. Your role will involve sourcing suppliers, obtaining competitive prices, and managing contracts. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of purchasing processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviewing Vendors Items for effective use in operations
- Reviewing Vendors performance, fulfillment, cost control
- Request for Quotes from current and potential vendors
- Verifies purchase requests by comparing items to master list, clarifying unclear items, recommending alternatives where needed.
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
- Obtain substitute item specifications and prices, as needed.
- Ensure all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolve shipments in error with suppliers.
- Authorize payment for purchases following department protocol and procedures.
- Maintains department files.
- Communicates changes with department peers.
- Price large stock/project requests, analyze offer and present to requesting department for final approval.
- Maintain and improve relationships with all parties.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Computer Skills in Excel, Word, Adobe, and Google Workspace
- 3 years' experience
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Hands on experience with purchasing.
- Knowledge of market research.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.25 - $23.18 per hour
