Job Overview
Petroplus & Associates, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. This full-time role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts receivable/payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, experience with financial software, and the ability to support both company operations and the properties we manage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and collections
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Perform double-entry bookkeeping to ensure financial accuracy
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy
- Utilize financial software, such as Yardi (preferred) or Xero, for bookkeeping processes
- Assist property management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Conduct quarterly property budget analysis
- Monitor lease agreements for updates or changes
- Handle common area billing, year-end reconciliations, and analysis reporting
- Maintain organized accounting files and assist with system/process reviews
- Coordinate payroll with provider and assist with benefits administration
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation
- Stay updated on financial regulations and accounting best practices to ensure compliance
- Provide quarterly financial reports to ownership
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or a related field
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and GAAP principles
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Yardi software is highly preferred, as it is our primary property management system
- Experience with other financial software is beneficial
- Experience in real estate or property management is strongly desired
- Familiarity with public accounting practices is a plus
- Proficiency in financial report writing and analysis
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members
