This position is a HYBRID in office position in NYC.
Salary Range: $60K-$75K
Pets People is looking for a full-time NYC-based Assistant Product Manager to support the development and product life cycle for formulated product categories including but not limited to air care, personal care, consumables, cleaning & laundry.
We are looking for an energetic Assistant Product Manager-CPG who is passionate about delivering quality products to market in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This individual will be responsible for overseeing key commercialization milestones of the development process. This includes new product configurations for existing formulas, maintaining databases of vendor information, maintaining physical and digital product library, and aiding in the roll out of product launches across several retailers.
You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must be highly organized, possess a keen eye for detail, enjoy creating or improving processes to improve efficiency and the flow of information to relevant parties. You should also be a self-starter and be able to look ahead and anticipate issues based on previous experiences. This role has a major focus on business continuity and supporting and maintaining our current portfolio across brands and retailers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as design, sales, and marketing to ensure that the product is delivered on time, on budget, and to our high-quality standards.
- Facilitate product reconfigurations (new product size, new pack size, existing formula and AW) from start to finish (working with the category PM to ensure accuracy).
- Special attention to detail concerning licensor requirements and approvals.
- Stays up to date on everchanging regulatory landscape within relevant regions and throughout various product categories.
- Maintaining an up-to-date dossier of approved formula documentation.
- Request production samples for each new product as well as manage the PD inventory of active products.
- Review inspection reports ensuring accuracy from our manufacturing partners.
- Communicating product updates and progress to managers as necessary.

Requirements
- Must be NYC-based.
- Experience in formulated consumer goods (personal care, fabric care, or surface care) or pet supplies (grooming & health related products) development and production.
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be super organized, able to keep track of multiple projects at once & follow-up oriented.
- Must be willing to devote full time to Pets People.
- Past experience in the pet industry is a BIG plus!!
- 1 years of product management experience in consumer products
