About the Team

Our IT team has 4 different departments: Information Security, IT Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, and IT Commerce & Customer Engagement.

Whether it's online or in our stores, the work that the IT team does is instrumental in PetSmart's success. We have a strategic and actionable plan underway and are looking for associates who are just as excited about it as we are.

About the Location

Hybrid Position:

This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart's FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.

About the Job

Associate Applications Analyst, Merchandising Applications

Associate Applications Analyst will focus on supporting various big and small projects utilizing various Merchandising Applications. In this position, you will learn to identify, define, analyze, and refine the requirements related to Retail and Merchandising Applications. In this position, you will work with Senior Analysts on various projects as well as independently on smaller projects. This is a development opportunity to grow your career in Retail specific IT by leveraging your technical skills, adaptability, analytical thinking, and your ability to deliver results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Quick learner who can learn new Systems, Technologies, and business processes.
  • Demonstrate solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creates business and functional design specifications using help from Senior Analysts
  • Demonstrate some understanding of various business processes within Merchandising, Retail, Digital, and e-Commerce business areas
  • Gather and document business requirements using appropriate templates
  • Work closely with the Project Lead, Architect, and Development team to ensure the solution meets business needs
  • Learn to capture detailed technical requirements
  • Partner with Test Team to facilitate the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and automation scripts; establish and manage acceptance criteria, participates in the identification of defects, and works to resolution with Developers and business teams
  • Partner with Test Lead to participate in testing for the implemented functionalities and support all test phases

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College degree with major in Computer Science or relevant experience supporting Retail IT Applications
  • Some exposure to Retail specific IT Systems/Technologies. Some experience with both 'brick and mortar' and e-commerce
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) utilizing both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Solid analysis/troubleshooting skills, strong partnering/relationship building skills.
  • Should be Customer-Oriented, Mission Focused, and a quick learner
  • Work well within a team setup and helps build a positive team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with and through others to resolve issues
  • Should have High Standards around quality and results delivery

NICE TO HAVE:
  • Some knowledge with ERP Systems like SAP
  • Knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS) Applications
  • Experience with ticket management systems like Service Now
  • Experience with using tools like JIRA, Confluence, QTest and Sharepoint
  • Experience with writing test scripts
  • Knowledge of documenting system flow diagrams using tools like Lucid and Visio
  • Knowledge of writing Test Automation scripts, experience with Tosca is a plus
  • Programming knowledge in SQL, Powershell or C#
  • Knowledge of Pricing, Promotion, Demand Planning and other Merchandising or Supply Chain Systems
