Job Description

The Merchandise Development Center Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Merchandise Development Center (MDC). This includes opening, closing and managing all activities that involve the MDC. Oversee storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, and administrative functions.


Essential Responsibilities
(other duties may be assigned)

  • Manages all of the inbound and outbound deliveries. Tracking, handling and communicating all shipments received into the MDC.
  • Supports cross functional teams by providing input and guidance on MDC storage and space availability for tests, fixture projects, and sample product storage.
  • Supports Visual Merchandising in corrugate unshrouding and disposal.
  • Communicates effectively with peers and cross-functional work teams.
  • Interacts and with visitors & associates and provides ad-hoc support as needed.
  • Organize and maintain MDC fixtures and fixture supplies (shelves, pegs, sign-holders, etc) to support the building of planograms.
  • Manage post-walk product sample product for donation and/or Employee Sale.
  • Organize & maintain office supplies within a set budget.
  • Training new associates on operational guidelines and policies related to working in the MDC.
  • Oversees cleaning and pest control services ensuring MDC is being cleaned and treated according to contractual agreements.
  • Coordinates the removal of expired or infested product from the MDC. Monitors to ensure no expired product or infestation in the building.
  • Schedules and communicates MDC calendar activities, managing and coordinating associate access to the building.


Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university and minimum 2 year’s related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Retail and/or building management experience highly desired.
  • Retail experience is preferred.

  • Self-Starter with great attention to detail and producer of high-quality work.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • High energy and optimistic outlook
  • Ability to drive a forklift and operate smaller mechanical tools.
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to influence and lead others without direct reporting responsibility.


Software Skills Required

  • Basic MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word


Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The ability to operate a forklift.
