The Executive Assistant is a member of the administrative support team and provides senior level support to a member of the executive team. Requires strong verbal and written communications skills, including proofreading and editing. Ability to tactfully manage internal and external relationships, and communicate in a clear, direct, and diplomatic style, handling sensitive situations and complex tasks discreetly, effectively, and efficiently. The Executive Assistant should have solid interpersonal and organizational skills, initiative, self-motivation, sound judgment, discretion, respect for confidentiality, ability to remain calm in a high energy fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing professional, customer-focused service.

This position typically starts at $84,586 per year.
Location
Pew Research Center staff are required to be present in the Center’s Washington, D.C., office two core days weekly (Tuesday, Wednesday). Staff may work virtually from remote locations on other days in a typical work week.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage complex executive calendars, prioritizing and scheduling meetings, conferences, and teleconferences; coordinate travel arrangements as needed.
- Support executive outreach efforts as needed.
- Manage assigned budget and other financial transactions for executive and team.
- Support the executive’s relationship with the Executive Team and with the Center board leadership.
- Prepare, proofread and edit correspondence, communications, presentations, and other documents.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects while ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are achieved.
- Organize and maintain the document filing system.
- Coordinate cross-functional meetings with various team members to ensure action items are completed and outcomes align with strategic goals.
- Create meeting agendas including action items, and support meeting logistics.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, focusing on accuracy and quality, without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Self-disciplined to proactively resolve issues, anticipate needs and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills including a strong sense of urgency to set priorities, juggle multiple tasks and organize time effectively. Proven ability to develop and manage systems and processes, as well as organize and prioritize multiple complex projects and tasks.
- Ability to understand organizational structure and to work through administrative systems, both as an individual and as a member of a team.
- Ability to resolve problems creatively and logically, applying expertise and experience to solve problems and detect underlying issues in complex situations and feels comfortable to consult appropriate colleagues and resources, asking questions when something isn’t clear.
- Handle confidential information with integrity and maintain the highest level of discretion
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of executive administrative support.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams required. Familiarity with Asana, or other project management software.
- A proactive, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as collaboratively.
