Cushion Stuffer Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cushion Stuffer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring that cushions are filled accurately and efficiently. This position requires a strong commitment to quality and teamwork, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with other team members. This position does require some Sewing experience.
Duties
- Expected to take initiative and be proactive.
- Able to read and understand shop orders, production schedules and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Meet and exceed IMMI's expectations (safety, quality, productivity).
- Identify and separate nonconforming parts (defective).
- Report issues to maintenance as needed and make supervisor aware.
- Must follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Housekeeping (5S) throughout and end of shift
- Must be punctual.
- Other duties as required.
- Meet or exceed the "Order Completion Time" for eack Shop Orders.
- Average stuffing approxamatly 50 cushions an hour.
- Must be able to identify the correct vinyl by color, texture, grain and backing.
- Fill cushions with appropriate stuffing materials according to specifications.
- Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
PPE Requirements
- Safety glasses and hearing protection is required.
- Safety shoes are required and are to be purchased by the employee.
Language Skills
- Basic understanding of English language.
- Bilingual is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs. repetitively.
- Must be able to stand the entire shift.
- Position requires bending, stooping, stretching and reaching.
Education and/or Experience Level
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Effective communication skills.
- Self-starter and well organized.
- Should be able to work well in a multicultural environment
- Experience in a manufacturing facility
- Basic knowledge of computer use.
- Flexible to perform multiple job functions and duties.
Work Location: High Point
Shift: 1st shift 5:45pm - 2:30pm Monday through Friday
