Our team is made up of 150 multi-talented individuals from Tasting Room to Brewery who are committed to giving craft beer lovers the best beer, food, and service experience possible.
About the role
You will play an important part in the daily success of the tasting room. Greeting guests as they arrive; adding guest to our waitlist; showing guest to their table; delivering orders from the kitchen; setting, clearing, and resetting tables; and shift-dependent side work.
A breakdown of your tasks:
- Promptly greet guests as they enter the tasting room in a warm and authentic manner.
- Add guests to the waitlist and direct them to the waiting areas
- Manage the waitlist proficiently, providing accurate quote times, assigning parties on the waitlist to tables, and effectively rotating the seating of guests between sections.
- Seat guests at table, providing menus and answering initial questions they may have.
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately, in accordance with safety standards.
- Assist the serving staff with table setting, bussing, and resetting tables.
- Answer phone calls and guests’ questions.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the food and beer menus
- Communicate guest and taproom needs with front-of-house and back-of-house
- Communicate to management about guests’ feedback or requests.
- Engage with guest throughout their visit

Work in a busy tasting room can sometimes be hectic, no matter how well we plan, and how good our support staff is. You don’t get fired up under pressure, and you know how to prioritize, ask for help and how to manage tasks and emotions when it’s go-time.
Your qualifications
- Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all tasting room staff.
- Self-motivated; able to look for additional tasks during slow times and utilize the side work sheets to direct your efforts.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food or glassware, when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace and environment.
- Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
- Able to work in a consistently busy restaurant environment.
- Be available and reliable to work, and be consistently on-time

The location
Housed partially in the former fire station of the historic Milwaukie City Hall building. The taproom features a stunning green space, large trees, and a sculpture garden accompanied by a spacious pergola covered outdoor patio, a private dining and event space upstairs for various brewery and community events, and a lounge area reminiscent of the popular Bear’s Den in Hood River.
