What are the responsibilities and job description for the Configuration Developer position at PGT Custom Windows and Doors?
The Configuration Developer plays a crucial role in configuring and customizing software systems, specifically Paradigm CPQ software (Configure, Price, Quote), to support our operations, enabling us to continue delivering exceptional products to our customers.
- Configuration and Customization: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document software and/or product configuration requirements. Utilize your technical expertise to configure, customize, and maintain software solutions/products, ensuring they align with our business requirements.
- Software Integration: Work closely with the IT team to integrate software solutions with our existing systems and databases. Ensure seamless data flow and compatibility between different software applications.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate software/product configurations. Identify and rectify any issues or discrepancies to maintain system integrity and performance.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of software/product configurations, customizations, and changes. This documentation will be essential for reference and training purposes.
- User Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users and teams to ensure they can effectively utilize the configured software. Address and resolve user issues and questions in a timely manner.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for process improvement through software customization and automation. Suggest and implement enhancements to drive efficiency and productivity.
- Security and Compliance: Maintain a strong focus on data security and compliance. Ensure that software configurations adhere to relevant industry and company-specific regulations.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to software configurations promptly. Offer technical expertise and support to end-users and colleagues.
- Vendor Collaboration: Work with software vendors and service providers to understand and utilize software capabilities to their fullest potential. Participate in vendor discussions and evaluate third-party software solutions when necessary.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Configuration Developer, specifically with Paradigm CPQ software (Configure, Price, Quote), or similar role.
- Proficiency in software/product configuration and customization.
- Strong knowledge of database management, scripting languages, and system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
