Job Overview
Production Supervisor is to oversee our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the production team, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently while also actively managing the flow of materials and finished goods within a facility, ensuring efficient production and timely delivery by utilizing strong logistics knowledge and skills in inventory management, shipping, and receiving.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production activities and manage a team of production workers in a manufacturing facility.
- Ensure that all production goals are met in terms of quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Coordinate the fabrication and assembly processes to optimize workflow on the assembly line.
- Train new employees on proper operating procedures for machinery, including the use of power tools and hand tools.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning and maintenance.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations within the factory environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve production issues and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper storage and retrieval of materials and finished goods.
- Provide training and development opportunities for production staff.
- Other duties as required and assigned
Experience
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, shipping and receiving practices, and supply chain logistics.
- Familiarity with assembly line processes and quality control standards.
- Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and manuals related to production operations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Proficiency in analyzing production and logistics data to make informed decisions.
Other skills required:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop or kneel.
- Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 30 pounds.
- Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Ability to speak Spanish is desired.
- Must be able and willing to travel to customer locations.
