A typical day in the life of an HR Generalist will include the following:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Act as the main point of contact for employee relations concerns, facilitating resolution of workplace conflicts, employee grievances, and performance issues.
- Support managers with performance improvement plans (PIPs), providing guidance on coaching employees and addressing performance-related issues.
- Ensure company policies related to employee relations are well communicated and consistently applied across the organization.
- Conduct and manage investigations into workplace issues, including complaints of harassment, discrimination, and misconduct, ensuring confidentiality and fairness.
- Develop and implement strategies to boost employee engagement, job satisfaction, and workplace culture, fostering a positive working environment.
- Provide guidance to managers on disciplinary procedures, ensuring all actions are in line with company policies and employment laws.
- Oversee the offboarding process, including resignations and terminations, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback from departing employees, analyze trends, and recommend changes to improve retention.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including equal employment opportunity, wage and hour regulations, and workplace safety requirements.
- Conduct interactive process with employees to determine ADA compliance and reasonable accommodations.
- Represent PharmaCord at personnel-related hearings, mediations, and depositions.

- You have the ability to coach/advise employees and management through sensitive HR issues to resolve conflict and seek workable solutions.
- You can conduct individual and/or group facilitations to foster effective communication and healthy workplace relationships among employees and management.
- You are able to investigate work-related or compliance issues and prepare summary reports, conclusions and recommendations.
- You have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, and various agencies at all levels of the organization.
- You use reason and de-escalation skills to manage difficult or emotional situations.
- You present facts and recommendations verbally and in writing.
- You enjoy Planning, designing, implementing, and conducting trainings to a diverse level of management, and employees.
- You know how to maintain strict confidentiality
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline required.
- 2 years of experience in HR role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and other relevant leave laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- All employees working onsite in a PharmaCord facility are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
- We are located in Jeffersonville, IN. You must be willing to work in this location; PharmaCord does reimburse for tolls if applicable, at the frequent user rate. This rate is applied after 40 trips per month (valued at $678.60 per year)
- This is a full-time exempt position.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy.
- Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
