A typical day in the life of a Pharmacy Technician will include the following:
- Entering prescriptions and verifying appropriate information
- Contacting patients, pharmacists and doctor’s offices to resolve claims issues
- Processing prescriptions (from intake to order completion)
- Resolving customer issues; ensuring accurate information is provided
- Navigate computer system to review and confirm prescriptions orders and information ensuring that automated fulfillment is correct
- Manually dispenses orals, liquid medications and medical supplies according to standard procedures and protocols
- Maintain dispensing units ensuring they are filled with correct products, returns products that are no longer valid due to recalls, supply issues, etc.
- This includes maintaining proper inventory and storage of drug by filling dispensing units and monitoring and adjusting pharmacy equipment.
- Process, pack or ship pharmacy orders to include the counting and dispensing of medications, accurate labeling and packing in appropriate manner for shipment within the required time frames
- Bring in packages from the receiving dock area
- Assist with inventory management/replenishment as directed by the Pharmacist(s)
- Replenish Shipping supplies for production area

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The ability to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy is required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Light to moderate lifting may be required.

- High School Diploma Required
- Possess current KY pharmacy tech license or ability to obtain license within the first week of start date
- Retail or Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred

- We are located at 11001 Bluegrass Parkway, Louisville, KY. You must be willing to work in this location; PharmaCord does reimburse for tolls if applicable, at the frequent user rate. This rate is applied after 40 trips per month (valued at $655.20 per year).
