Job Description: Accountant
Reports to: Controller
Position Overview: Accounting support is an important function within the organization. The Accountant manages the books and records of their assigned pharmacies ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reports to management.
Key Responsibilities Includes but is not limited to:
- Responsible for ensuring timely month end close processing and financial statement review
- Performs monthly bank account reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations and work papers for monthly/quarterly balance sheet reviews by accounting management
- Performs daily cash posting for assigned pharmacies
- Assists department management in preparation for various audits
- Any other duties assigned
- Follow federal and state regulations
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Follow HIPPA guidelines and regulations
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A bachelor degree in accounting and 2-3 years of accounting experience required
Must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Excellent Excel skills are required
Workday and Sage experience a plus
Superior organizational skills, strong task management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external customers, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
A positive attitude, with a high degree of ethics and personal integrity, as well as confidentiality, are traits needed to be successful in this role
- Previous Long-Term Care pharmacy experience a plus (but not required)
