Position Overview : The Senior Manager, Patient Access will lead the daily operations of the HUB in executing strategic business goals and meeting key performance indicators outlined by the Director, Patient Access.  The Senior Manager, Patient Access will be directly responsible for ensuring timely access to BESREMi through the utilization of resources available through the HUB and specialty pharmacy and ensuring all internal and external stakeholders are activated to support business goals. The Senior Manager, Patient Access will manage the internal case manager (Patient Support Specialist) team, ensure all business rules and work instructions are followed and significant trends and insights are shared with the Market Access Leadership team.  This role also requires the identification and implementation of continuous improvement activities, tactics and initiatives that support the achievement of established business goals and key performance indicators.  The SM, Patient Access is responsible for developing and implementing training for onboarding the internal case manager (Patient Support Specialist) team, and for training all access stakeholders on key initiatives, business rules and work instructions.  This role requires the ability to build constructive business relationships and effectively communicate, collaborate, motivate, and influence both external and internal partners via quarterly business reviews and weekly touchpoints. This is a highly visible and entrepreneurial position requiring a great degree of leadership, collaboration, creativity, and solution focused approach to address access challenges. A successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in the patient, prescriber, payer, and channel / distribution flow for BESREMi and its connection to the business model for BESREMi and competitor products. Act as the subject matter expert regarding the acquisition and fulfilment of BESREMi via the HUB and Specialty Pharmacy network Demonstrate expertise in all HUB and Specialty Pharmacy processes and resources available to patients, prescribers, and access stakeholders Ensure the HUB and Specialty Pharmacy Partners are administering services in accordance with SOWs and business rules Manage PEC’s internal case manager (Patient Support Specialist) team Serve as a main triage point for HUB and Specialty Pharmacy Partners and oversee weekly calls with HUB, Specialty Pharmacy Partners, Patient Support Specialist (PSS) and Field Access Managers to ensure operational excellence Identify and implement tactics to improve the patient’s treatment journey regarding access, time to therapy, compliance, and persistency Identify, escalate and make recommendations to address trends related to patients, prescribers, and payors that impact patient outcomes in partnership with internal access stakeholders Identify and execute program enhancements that will optimize the patient and customer experience and access to BESREMi Identify, manage and drive new patient access initiatives in line with established business goals Identify, launch and train all access stakeholders on patient access initiatives related to seasonal activities and / or significant program changes Identify, execute and oversee continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the existing service model and ensure a superior experience for patients and health care providers Ensure manufacturer free goods and co-pay programs are administered in accordance with approved business rules and make recommendations for program improvements Plan and execute quarterly business reviews with HUB partner, and share significant trends with Market Access Leadership team Ensure data integrity in patient database through collaboration with HUB, SPs, data aggregators and Quality Assurance activities and by having a full understanding of key data elements, case status definitions, and documentation requirements impacting key reports Develop, continuously improve and execute training Ensure all business rules and work instructions are up to date and accurate Travel to and represent Patient Access as necessary at commercial and other relevant business-related meetings Adhere to all compliance requirements and applicable laws and regulations as outlined by the Legal Team and company trainings The Person : Education : BA / BS degree Qualifications and Experience :   Bachelor’s or graduate degree in health care, life sciences or related field Minimum of 4-6 years of patient access, case management or relatable experience, including prior payor coverage experience for rare disease / specialty therapies or relatable experience Ability to project manage multiple projects simultaneously Proficiency in billing / coding, insurance plan types, medical and pharmacy benefits, and relevant state and federal laws and insurance regulations Experience with financial assistance programs, charitable access and related resources Experience in oncology or rare / specialty market preferred Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally  Ability to work under pressure and with competing deadlines Willingness to travel up to ~25% domestically Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to listen actively and synthesize information in a meaningful way Exceptional organizational skills Ability to appropriately represent the patient access team in all internal and external settings Strong analytical capabilities to ensure robust inputs to decision-making Excellent communication (verbal and writing) skills with proven ability to present to large and small audience Good judgment, ability to adapt and change in a shifting environment Strategic, passionate, self-starter who takes initiative Strong understanding of the laws, regulations and rules governing the pharmaceutical industry
