Phasor Engineering is a dynamic North America based company specializing in engineering, design, panel fabrication, and testing/commissioning of high voltage electrical facilities. Our focus is to incorporate the latest technological advances to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to power system engineering. This focus allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Survey Technician/Drafter to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will be based out of our Edmonton, AB, office and offers a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:
Work within a project team of designers in our Geomatics team, while following the instructions of the Geomatics team lead/Crew Chiefs;
Assist the Geomatics team with drafting and CAD updates to drawings;
Operate the survey equipment;
- Operate and maintain assigned survey equipment including ATVs/UTVs/Argos, tools, and materials;
- Ensure proper operation of equipment and report any issues to the Crew Chief;
Perform field survey tasks including obtaining survey measurements and staking for infrastructure projects;
Communicate effectively and regularly with Field Leads, Project Managers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Client Field Representatives;
Interpret design drawings, field data, field sketches, and base maps;
Coordinate field crew s daily activities and supervise, mentor, and train survey assistants;
Prepare, review, and finalize drawing mark-ups/packages;
Will be required to travel based on project location;
Actively promote Phasor's Health, Safety and Environmental Program.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should possess a Diploma or Certificate in Design or Drafting from a recognized institute.
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite of programs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an attention to detail are essential.
Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
Previous experience working in a Survey Technician role for Utilities in North America.
3 years experience using drafting software (AutoCAD).
Excellent communication skills.
