Service Line Director – Cardiovascular Services
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Line Director – Cardiovascular Services to lead and oversee the strategic development, financial performance, and operational efficiency of cardiovascular programs. This leadership role will be responsible for optimizing patient care, improving clinical outcomes, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate will collaborate with senior leadership, physicians, and nursing teams to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with the organization's mission and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Program Development
- Develop and execute short- and long-term strategic plans for cardiovascular services, setting measurable goals and clear benchmarks for success.
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, and administrative leadership to enhance program growth, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes .
- Research industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the cardiovascular program remains innovative and competitive .
- Lead and manage new service line initiatives , expansion efforts, and program enhancements.
Financial & Operational Management
Oversee the financial performance of the cardiovascular service line, including budget preparation, cost control, and revenue optimization .Develop and implement cost-control strategies to improve fiscal operations while maintaining high-quality patient care.Monitor program volume, productivity, and reimbursement trends , identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.Work closely with the finance team to develop business plans for new services and operational enhancements.Quality Improvement & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and reporting requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).Lead and coordinate performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, quality metrics, and clinical effectiveness.Manage data integrity processes and reporting mechanisms to support hospital leadership in decision-making .Maintain oversight of patient flow and hospital throughput to enhance overall operational efficiency.Leadership & Team Development
Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and professional development for department managers and staff.Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment focused on continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.Support the onboarding of new surgeons and clinical staff to ensure seamless integration into the cardiovascular program.Serve as a liaison between physicians, administration, and clinical teams , ensuring effective communication and collaboration.Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in business planning, process improvement, and healthcare management, including five (5) years of leadership experience in a hospital setting.Strong financial acumen , with experience in budget management, cost control, and revenue cycle optimization .Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) .Preferred :
Master's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.Experience in cardiovascular service line management or related specialty areas.Project management and performance improvement experience in a healthcare setting.Core Competencies

Full-time, exempt position with a flexible Monday-Friday schedule, based on business and operational needs.Active participation in hospital committees, task forces, and strategic initiatives.
