This position is a unique career opportunity to join a prestigious wealth management/investment advisory firm as their Tax Manager in the Corporate Tax Department.
The department handles all aspects of tax planning for the firm. The Tax Manager will be responsible for reviewing federal and state partnership income tax returns, information reporting and withholding tax returns, and tax analytics for various investments in the private equity, real estate, and hedge fund space. The position is located in Woodbridge, NJ on a hybrid schedule.
Primary responsibilities
- Tax compliance management, including the oversight of federal and state partnership income tax filings in a time sensitive environment for multiple legal entities
- Review and filings of information, reporting, and withholding tax returns, including Forms 1042 and 1099, for multiple legal entities
- Tax analysis, planning and assessments for internal management and end users
- Tax audit support, including responding to IDRs
- Reconciliation and validation of income tax accounts and balance sheet tax accounts
- Analysis of income tax accounting impact of transactions
- Direct communication with interested parties including investors, investment managers, and vendors
- Flexibility to work on special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in tax or accounting preferred
- Ideally 5-6 years of hands-on income tax experience in a corporate environment or public accounting firm
- Significant partnership tax compliance in private equity, real estate, and hedge fund industry
- Federal and multi-state tax reporting and withholding experience
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and oral communication skills
- Experience covering complex tax issues in a real-time environment
- Strong managerial skills, with a hands-on approach
- Superior work ethic with high level of accountability
- Strong proficiency with Excel; knowledge of ONESOURCE Income Tax a plus
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
