What are the responsibilities and job description for the Government Operations Senior Associate position at Phaxis?
Investment firm is seeking an experienced professional to join our growing team within our Government Clearing operations . The role requires someone who will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and communicate effectively. The ideal candidate will be assisting with supervising the function and staff within the Government Clearing department. This position will be 4 days onsite.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the Fed Book Entry System (Bony BDC) for daily work
- Monitor all clearance screens for discrepancies
- Research GSD and MBSD discrepancies
- Research and reconcile BDC with IMPACT and Finet
- Communicate with traders and sales staff to reconcile trade problems
- Balance daily work
- Determine correct delivery instructions for counterparties
- Reconcile and redeliver DKs
- Coach junior staff and contribute appropriate, relative knowledge and experiences to aid, assist and/or support the day’s workload
- Support senior staff with workload as well as participate in two-way knowledge transfer
- Demonstrate first rate client service skills; escalate issues to Section Manager/supervisor, as appropriate
- Work independently and cooperatively within specified section
- Comply with section policies, procedures and escalation protocols
- Train and/or transfer knowledge to direct reports, as required
- Other functions and tasks as assigned
Requirements
- 5 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry
- Working knowledge of Fed Book Entry securities settlement, Impact, FinPro, MBSE and RTTM
- Initiative and willingness to learn or assume new responsibilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel)
Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
