We are seeking a skilled and motivated General Machining Operatorto join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing quality parts efficiently, performing precision machining operations, and maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness within the work area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pass the company’s certification process and demonstrate the ability to produce quality parts on Manual Lathes, Manual Mill, CNC’s and Secondary equipment
- Operate and maintain equipment with precision, adhering to required tolerances of .002” or more.
- Utilize micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments and gages to ensure quality standards are met.
- Make dimensional and material determinations based on documentation and prints.
- Set proper feeds and speeds of equipment to ensure maximum efficiency while optimizing tool life.
- Deburr machined parts and complete all stock work orders.
- Change tooling in machines as necessary to maintain smooth production processes.
- Maintain good housekeeping conditions in the work area to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
- Utilize PCs to access job-related databases and perform required computer functions.
- Practice safe working habits, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in relevant machine operations specifically with Manual Lathes, Millsand CNC Mills.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Strong understanding of gauging and measuring techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret prints and technical documentation.
- Experience in performing lathe operations with tight tolerances (.002” or more).
- Ability to determine proper dimensional and material specifications based on job requirements.
- Familiarity with inventory procedures related to this classification.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to following all safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing or machining environment.
- Certification in relevant machine operations (preferred, but not required).
