What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Analyst position at Phelps County Bank?
Responsible for the completion of loan credit analysis for new and existing projects by performing the following duties.
Outcomes and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Responsible for tracking and maintaining current financial information for commercial relationships.
- Prepare spreadsheets and written financial analysis reports on customers’ financial data to assist lenders and management in making informed credit decisions.
- Learn to prepare written analysis on all commercial loans, large aggregate lending to one borrower, complex loans, and weak loans within 6 months of date of hire. Report results to the appropriate lending officer or department supervisor as applicable.
- Audit files systematically for adequacy of credit and/or deficiencies; report audit results to the Chief Lending Officer as requested.
- Responsible for the determination of loan rating reviews and watch list presentations for the loan loss reserve adequacy reviews.
- Prepare technical exception reports, non-conforming loan reports, concentration of credit, etc. for dissemination to the appropriate lending officer.
- Prepare property appraisal review reports.
- Maintain watch list and include said list in the monitoring and production of the Current Expected Credit Losses and Allowance for Loan Loss & Lease Reserve (ALLL), including reporting said Executive Committee quarterly for recommendation of the quarterly reserve adjustment needed.
- Monitoring new applications, contracts, and limits for ACH and RDC customers.
- Assist with loan quality control audits on consumer loans.
- Assist with the preparation for examinations and external audits.
- Attend loan committee meetings on a regular basis.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2-5 years related banking experience and/or training preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Problem solving and troubleshooting practical problems.
- Ability to learn new tools, software, and equipment at a fast pace.
