Outside Sales Representative

Phelps is looking for an experienced sales candidate to join our team, as our team is expanding! This position generates revenue for our Custom Image Wear division that provides a wide variety of garments, promotional items and products that allows customers to showcase their brands with top of the line quality! If you are a promotional product enthusiast, like to provide solutions for clients, and have 5-10 years of sales experience, this could be the next job fit for you!

Essential Functions :

Generates and develops new business to meet specified sales goals
Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads
Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs and obtain authorizations with the highest level of integrity
Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest
Utilizes company's CRM and maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems
Achieve annual sales targets and average weekly revenue quotas on a consistent basis
Prepares and presents sales proposals
Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of Phelps industry product information
Attends and participates in business events as necessary
Attends and participates in team strategic sales meetings

Must have a proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

Must be proficient on Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office software : Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English as the primary language(s) used in the workplace

Education / Experience Required :

5 years of sales experience

High School Diploma

Education / Experience Preferred :

10 years of sales experience preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred

Physical Requirements :

Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

Collect, interpret, and / or analyze complex data and information

Understand and respond to a diverse population

Lift and / or move up to 30 pounds at times

Proof of insurance and a safe MVR record is required

Ability to use telephone / cell phone to communicate with customers, inside sales and support, and outside sales personnel

Primarily travel based but also an inside average office environment

Must occasionally be in production area for pickup of customer orders, average time of 30 minutes or less in other areas than office

Average office noise levels with no PPE required
