Position Overview: The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the preparation of accurate financial reports, maintaining general ledger accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies. This role is critical in supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
· Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
· Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and analyses for management review.
· Support the accounts payable and receivable processes, including processing invoices and payments.
· Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances, or discrepancies.
· Assist with audits, including preparing schedules, reports, and documentation for external auditors.
· Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
· Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· 3 years of accounting experience preferred
· Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Great Plains, NetSuite, or D365) and Microsoft Excel.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
