Position Overview
The Controller position is responsible for the accounting operations of the dealership. This includes monthly financial reports, maintaining accurate accounting records, putting internal controls in place to mitigate risk, and to ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The candidate should have prior experience as a full-charge automotive controller. Experience Requirements
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a full-charge automotive controller, and DealerTrack DMS experience is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities
· Ensure bank deposits are made and recorded daily (includes ACH, wire transfers, etc.)
· Reconcile all bank accounts daily.
· Prepare reports as requested by management company, general managers/partners, and department managers.
· Prepare tax reports on a timely basis (i.e., sales tax, lease tax and payroll taxes, etc.)
· Complete accurate & timely reporting of financial statements as required by the manufacturer and management company.
· Ensure that all accounting schedules are reviewed, and account reconciliations are completed monthly (i.e., floorplan, bank, finance reserves, manufacturer statements, etc.)
· Meet with each general manager and their department managers weekly to review expenses, outstanding CIT’s, vehicle receivables, accounts receivables, rebate/incentives receivables, etc.
· Assist each general manager and their department managers in preparing monthly and annual forecasts.
· Ensure that vehicle sales, purchases, service, and parts sales are processed daily and posted to accounting.
· Complete monthly new/used physical inventory and reconcile to the general ledger.
· Oversee human resource function.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
