Summary/Objective
The Assistant Stage Manager for Philadelphia Ballet is a Seasonal Union position responsible for supporting the production and stage management departments during theater rehearsals and performances including attending production meetings, running rehearsals, clerical organization, and insuring the smooth execution of the performances. Assistant Stage Manager is required to hold union membership in AGMA. In addition, this position will be the Stage Manager for the annual School of Philadelphia Ballet End of Year performance in May, and this particular engagement will not be covered by AGMA CBA.
Essential Functions:
· Learn current productions and be able to call a performance if needed
· Assist Production Stage Manager with the creation and maintenance of accurate crew sheets and/or run lists for all aspects of the production
· Provide support for light cueing, including light walking as needed
· Assist Production Stage Manager with monitoring dancer sign-in sheets and enforce attendance guidelines
· Assist Production Department with the establishment of quick-change spaces
· Assist with the posting of any necessary signage, including dressing room assignments
· Inform appropriate members of the production staff of needed repairs to scenery, properties, and costumes
· Assist Production Department with the creation and distribution of performance reports include running times, irregularities, repairs needed, injuries, etc.
· Assist with acquiring/maintaining ice for dancer injuries
· Must have full access to personal license of Microsoft Word and Excel

Supervisory Responsibility: None
Expected Hours of Work: Days and hours of work are variable depending on the needs of each production. Frequent evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Must be able to work onsite during the production season. During the weeks of engagement, the Assistant Stage Manager must maintain a flexible schedule throughout the week and be available as needed per the terms of the CBA.
Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
Required Education & Experience:
· College Degree in Stage Management, Theatre or equivalent relevant work experience.
· Minimum three years stage management experience both at the regional and national level. Dance, particularly, ballet experience required.
· Ability to read music, including full orchestral scores.
· Knowledge of dance vocabulary and repertoire.
· Experience working with Unions
· Touring Experience (National and International)
