Philadelphia Youth Network is seeking a highly motivated Part-Time Seasonal Youth Development Facilitator that will be primarily responsible for ensuring youth have a space to reflect on their summer work experience, while developing the skills needed to be successful in their workplace. Facilitators will be required to work collaboratively with others to conduct activities, facilitate discussions and guide students through completion of program elements.

The Philadelphia Youth Network's WorkReady programs represent a comprehensive youth employment initiative designed to provide young individuals in Philadelphia with valuable work experience, skills development, and career exposure. WorkReady programs aim to prepare youth for the workforce by offering career development curriculum along with a range of paid employment opportunities, including internships, summer jobs, and apprenticeships.
What You’ll do:
Facilitation
- Serve as a resource for up to 30 students in a group setting by facilitating discussions and sharing strategies for a successful intern experience
- Engage interns’ creativity and challenge them to find the links between work experience and the skills that are required for success
- Support interns as they complete a contextual learning project
- Monitor progress of interns’ project to ensure completion
- Promote the development of key 21st century skills
- Participate in professional development activities, including orientations and trainings
Overall
- Perform other duties as assigned
Work Hours:
General work hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Intern Orientations will be held during the last week of June (6/24/24 – 6/27/24) and will run from 8:00am – 4:00pm
Weekly Professional Development Sessions will be every Friday for a 6-week period (TBD) from 8:00am – 4:00pm
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college or university
- Ability to take ownership and drive responsibilities through to completion
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to excel in a high-performing team and project a positive attitude
- Ability to be multi-task and be flexible
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office
- Successful completion of background checks (PA state criminal, Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse and F.B.I. fingerprinting)
