Job Summary
PHILIP MATTHEWS COMPANY has an immediate opening for an experienced Tool and Die maker. This qualified candidate must have experience in CAD design and CAD programming. Must be able to run an EDM machine and have experience making plastic extrusion dies and sizing. Starting pay is negotiable depending on experience. This is a salary position with an extremely competitive wage.
*Hours are 7AM to 3PM Monday thru Friday.
Duties
- Design and fabricate precision tools, dies, and fixtures according to specifications.
- Operate various machining equipment including milling machines, lathes, and stamping presses.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accuracy in measurements.
- Perform welding tasks as needed for tool assembly and repairs.
- Program CAM systems for automated machining processes.
- Conduct maintenance on tooling equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to troubleshoot issues related to tooling and die performance.
- Implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime in the production process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for designing tools and dies.
- Familiarity with stamping press operations and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers.
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus.
- Knowledge of CAM programming for automated machining processes is desirable.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
