The Facilities Category Manager is accountable for the effective & efficient management of third-party suppliers across the Facilities category throughout the full category management lifecycle. This role will seek to maximize value for Phillips 66 (P66) and its respective Business Units (BUs) & Joint Ventures (JVs). This requires significant client focus, active market engagement, as well as the formation of innovative solutions. Working in concert with key stakeholders, this role will develop category strategies that maximize the total cost of ownership the Company receives from third parties, execute and coordinate the implementation of category strategies, and manage supplier performance to enable continuous improvement.
Requirements may include:
Serve as the primary contact for stakeholder inquiries, issues, and escalations related to the category
Knowledge on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor strategies to make informed decisions
Drive compliance with centrally managed strategies and procurement policies while also promoting the best general interest outcome
Monitor KPIs to assess the effectiveness of category management strategies, proactively identify service delivery issues, and understand business needs
Implement and execute structured Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program
Coordinate RFx process with Strategic Sourcing, Data Analytics, and Technical Stakeholders when sourcing across regions and applicable sub-categories
Drafting, negotiating, executing, and implementing legal T&Cs and commercial terms
Promoting an environment that stimulates creative thinking, contingencies, and options that focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
Develop ‘Should Cost’ models to facilitate sourcing decisions and fact-based negotiations
Identify opportunities to leverage category spend within or across BU/site and regions
Maintains current knowledge of applicable sourcing and contracting industry best practices to identify and deliver strategic value to P66
Establishes relationships with P66 BU/site and key functional groups to facilitate collaborative planning, sourcing, contracting and supplier management activities
Identifies and monitors leading indicators for proactive market decisions
Supports the business in the implementation of new contracts and supplier Management of Change, ensuring effective handover and understanding of contract terms
Required Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or relevant discipline
3 or more years of procurement related experience in the energy industry with sourcing, negotiations, and contracting
Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, Ariba or equivalent CMS, and other procurement technologies
Working knowledge of category management processes, procedures, practices, and techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
5 or more years of procurement experience in the energy industry with sourcing, negotiations, and contracting
Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, SAP, Ariba, and other procurement technologies
Ability to interface across functions and with key stakeholders in a matrixed organization Experience with sourcing tools and technologies, including e-sourcing, contract management, and spend analytics
Experience with sourcing tools and technologies, including e-sourcing, contract management, and spend analytics
Strong knowledge of the industry, market trends, and supplier landscape
Strong negotiation skills to effectively manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and achieve cost savings goals
Strong ability to think strategically, identify long-term opportunities, and develop strategies to achieve Company goals
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of driving cost savings and efficiencies
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
