What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant Music position at Phillips Academy?
The Phillips Academy Music Department seeks a part-time Administrative Assistant to assist in all administrative aspects of supporting a busy and thriving department. The part-time Administrative Assistant will work with a full-time Department Coordinator and report to the Department Chair. This is a 25-hour per week position with the majority of hours during the business day. Occasional support and flexibility to support special evening and weekend events may be needed. This is an academic year (10 month) position plus Summer Session.
Essential Duties, Skills and Responsibilities:
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, Learning Management system (Canvas or similar), communication tools, payroll and human resources software
- Assist students with practice room access, building schedules and borrowing instruments and equipment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for working in a diverse community and working effectively with students, other staff, adjunct instructors and faculty
Possible Opportunities:
- Prepare sheet music for ensembles and concerts
- Assist with digitization projects of audio recording archives and sheet music libraries
- Assist with design and creation of advertisements, press releases and programs, managing of promotional material and social media
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- A degree in Music is not required, but preferred
