Responsibilities
- Support and oversight of two student-led programs and participation in summer organizational initiatives.
- Provide program development support in areas of strategic planning and assessment of impact through regular site visits and student director meetings.
- Mentor student directors in program leadership and volunteer management.
- Develop and coordinate consistent relationships between programs and community partners.
- Uphold minimum health and safety standards as outlined in PBHA policies and federal, state and municipal guidelines to ensure well being of clients and volunteers.
- Assist student directors in crisis management and resolution of program incidents.
- Maintain institutional memory for individual programs through required documentation and participation in student director transition.
- Be familiar and support knowledge of program budget and fundraising needs.
- Assist student volunteers in navigating PBHA administration.
- Ideally begins as a part-time position in the spring and full-time position from June-August 2025. Summer Directors of Programs (DOPs) are also asked to ensure their programs’ compliance with Fall semester responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Available to PBHA alumni (from class of ’22 or earlier), Summer Urban Program experience and familiarity with Boston neighborhoods preferred.
- Priority is given to candidates who are open to committing to more than one summer. Compensation is $40 per hour. The position supports camp prep and transition (2-8 hours per week in the Spring & 20 hours total in the Fall).
