Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed, code-compliant fire alarm system layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software, including floor plans, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and equipment schedules, while adhering to local building codes and NFPA standards, often collaborating with project managers, sales teams, and field technicians to ensure accurate system design and implementation across commercial and residential buildings
Duties
- Design and develop fire protection systems, including layout design and system integration.
- Collaborate with technicians, contractors, and other engineers to ensure fire safety measures are effectively implemented.
- Conduct risk assessments and evaluate existing fire protection systems for compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Develop specifications for fire alarm systems
- Review project plans and provide technical guidance throughout the construction process.
- Prepare documentation using Bluebeam for project submittals, as-built drawings, and maintenance manuals.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software preferred
- Experience with system design
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to Project managers and technicians.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to fire safety is preferred.
- Willing to train someone new to Design
