Description
Job Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the HR team in various administrative and operational functions, ensuring smooth daily operations of the department. This role provides essential assistance in HR processes, employee engagement, compliance, and administrative tasks while acting as a key point of contact for employees, attorneys and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring data accuracy in HR systems.
- Assist in processing employee paperwork, including new hire, benefits enrollment, and termination documentation.
- Act as the Time Off Approver for Associates, Paralegals and Legal Administrative Assistants.
- Ensure HRIS, Intranet, and other communication tools remain up to date.
- Organize and maintain HR files and confidential documents in compliance with company policies.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling, report generation, and document preparation.
- Assist in posting job openings internally and externally.
- Maintain applicant tracking records via HRIS and process background and conflict checks.
- Support the candidate pre-screening process from resume review through initial interview.
- Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates and hiring managers.
- Support the onboarding process by preparing pre-hire documents/communication, schedule cohort orientation meetings, and ensuring a seamless transition for new employees.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, directing them to the appropriate HR personnel when necessary.
- Support HR-led initiatives, including engagement activities, wellness programs, and performance management.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating firm-wide events, training sessions, and development programs.
- Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring employees are informed of company guidelines.
- Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and coordination of open enrollment.
- Support benefits administration by maintaining accurate records and assisting with claims processing, including but not limited to workers compensation and leave requests.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Support the HR team in tracking and reporting key HR metrics, including headcount, turnover, and training completion.
- Assist in preparing compliance documentation, including EEO and workplace safety reports.
- Uphold the firm’s reputation as the premier source for sophisticated legal counsel by delivering superior outcomes, service, and value to every client and matter.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in an HR administrative or support role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with HR software and databases is a plus.
