What the Transition Manager does:
In coordination with the Education Program Supervisor, Classroom Teacher, Assistant Teacher, Career Partners Program Supervisor, and other staff as appropriate, the Transition Manager plans and oversees education for employment work activities for students. Additional responsibilities include:
- Develops and maintains work sites for students and coordinates placements at community work sites.
- Supports students, staff, and businesses to improve student work performance.
- Implements strategies to develop students’ work skills in the community.
- Ensures adherence to school policies and procedures.
- Transports students to and supervises them at job sites, providing job coaching and assistance as needed.
- Monitors, tracks, and teaches work-related skills and behaviors.
- Provides crisis management on job sites and supervises student safety throughout the day.
- Issues work permits in DC and VA.
- Attends meetings, workshops, and conferences as required.
- Communicates with parents and others about the EFE program.
- Maintains attendance records and job databases.
- Assists with school-wide Career Education activities.
- Regularly reports progress to supervisors and teachers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What the Transition Manager brings to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in career services and training for students in a school setting and community preferred.
- Experience working in a special needs school environment preferred.
Salary : $38,000 - $58,000
