Phillips Tax & Accounting, Inc. is hiring a temporary seasonal employee to assist with paperless document management in a busy tax office. We are looking for a candidate that is a team player, has an upbeat, positive personality and is enthusiastic about all things tax and accounting.
Hours: Last week in Jan – April 15, Minimum 30 hours, possibility of overtime in March.
No vacation time is allowed Jan 1 – April 15.

Job Responsibilities/Requirements
· Assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals and small businesses using electronic tax prep software.
· Intake of individual and business clients and their tax records during tax season.
· Dedication to confidentiality of client information and operating in an honest, ethical manner.
· Work with paperless technologies such as PDFs, sending and receiving e-mails, secure portals for document exchange, electronic signature programs, and scanning and optical character recognition technologies.
· Capable of self-direction in workflows and tasks, strong multitasking skills and ability to operate efficiently and accurately under deadlines.
· Able to take part in general office upkeep and work as a team.
· Participate in a rotating schedule of answering and routing phone calls.
· Maintain an upbeat attitude and work as a team
Experience/Education
· Formal education in tax preparation, accounting and bookkeeping a plus
· Experience in a paperless office environment. (within a tax office a plus)
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF editing programs.
· Knowledge and general understanding of computer systems.
· Excellent data entry skills, fast typing and 10-key calculator skills and a “knack for numbers.”
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent attention to detail.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 55 per week
