POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Intervention Teacher supports students’ social-emotional development and academic success by providing targeted interventions and creating a highly structured and supportive learning environment. This role includes working closely with classroom teachers and support staff to implement consistent routines, proactive behavior supports, and individual or small-group interventions—particularly for students with identified social-emotional or behavioral needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Oregon teacher certification as determined by Oregon Teacher Standards & Practices Commission (TSPC). Special Education licensure preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and implement targeted instructional and behavioral interventions for elementary students, including those with social-emotional and behavioral challenges.

Create a classroom environment that promotes safety, predictability, and emotional regulation through clear routines and expectations.

Provide direct instruction and support in social-emotional learning (SEL), self-regulation, and problem-solving skills.

Collaborate with general education teachers and specialists to support student success across school settings.

Monitor student progress through data collection and regular assessment; adjust supports and interventions as needed.

Communicate regularly and constructively with families and caregivers to support student growth and build partnerships.

Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district procedures.

Participate in student support team meetings, and contribute to the development of behavior or support plans as appropriate.

Provide direction and guidance to instructional assistants working in the intervention setting.

Coordinate with school counselors, behavior specialists, and other support staff to align services.

Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages students to engage, take risks, and build relationships.

Carry out all duties assigned to licensed teachers in the school district.
CONTRACT:
190-day annual contract (aligned with the approved District calendar). Salary and full benefits per the Licensed negotiated agreement. Salary Range is for 24/25 school year - contract negotiations are pending for 25/26.
