Job Summary
Since 1988, Phinney Industrial Roofing, has been installing commercial roofing, waterproofing and exterior insulated metal wall panel/metal siding systems. Being a multi-disciplined firm, with expertise in many weatherproofing components, we have the capability of offering our clients these services as independent proposals or as complete building envelop proposals.
The Roof Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of commercial roofing systems, identifying potential issues, and providing accurate assessments to help clients maintain the integrity of their buildings. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of various roofing materials and systems.
Candidates should have a proven background in roofing with a detail-orientated mindset. Candidates must be able to work independently and able to communicate with all levels of facility management.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site inspections of commercial roofs to assess condition, identify damage, and evaluate the lifespan of roofing systems.
- Document findings and provide detailed inspection reports, including photographs, recommendations for repairs, and cost estimates.
- Assess roof materials, drainage systems, and structural integrity to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Completion of inspection reports to include estimated costs for repair or replacement when necessary.
- Advise clients on roof maintenance programs and offer solutions for repair or replacement when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and recommendations for ongoing or future projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
- Data management of client web portal for all inspection clients
- Establish reroof budgets for capital planning consideration
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations during inspections and in the workplace.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, new materials, and best practices in commercial roofing systems.
Qualifications
· Proven experience as a roof inspector or in a similar role within the commercial roofing industry.
· In-depth knowledge of commercial roofing systems (e.g., TPO, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, PVC, etc.).
· Demonstrate an ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound recommendations based on inspection results.
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate with varying levels of management
· Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
· Flexibility to work, take ownership, and succeed in a rapidly changing environment
· Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
· Associates or Bachelors degree or in the process of completing (Preferred)
· Microsoft Office / CAD programs
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders, use safety equipment, and access rooftops.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying environmental conditions.
