What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at Phipps Law Firm?
SUMMARY:
Work under supervision of two (2) attorneys. Position is for a litigation paralegal. Basic tasks include, but are not limited to, typing, filing, scheduling, and performing duties such as coordinating meetings, conferences, depositions, mediations, and court/trials, and most importantly draft pleadings.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma required, College Degree or Paralegal Certificate desired
Three 3 years of South Carolina state and federal litigation experience required.
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
Must be able to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical and spelling errors
Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Clio
Applicant will have to deal with a diverse group of clients as well as professional contacts at all levels so an ability to communicate and work well with a variety of people is important.
Experience with: Summons/Complaints, Discovery, Motions, Filings in State and Federal Court
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including personal computer, copier, facsimile, scanner and telephone.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine office correspondence, completing forms & documents, maintains records & files.
Drafting letters, pleadings, requests and contracts to Courts and Clients
Helping out performing other office duties
