The Director of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and HR Operations oversees and enhances the systems, processes, and data related to human resources information management in addition to the overall infrastructure of our HR Operations, Analytics and Compliance team. This role is both strategic and operational. It is critical in managing HR technology, data analytics, and ensuring that HR systems support the organization's goals. This position also collaborates with HR leadership, IT, and various key stakeholder groups to optimize HR operations through the use of technology, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Areas of responsibility include HRIS, HR Operations, and HR Compliance.
Position Duties
- HR Systems Management
a. Oversees the selection, implementation, and optimization of HR information systems (HRIS), ensuring they align with organizational needs and are utilized effectively.
b. Manages and maintains the HRIS database, ensuring that it is accurate, secure, and up-to-date.
c. Collaborates with IT teams to address system issues, upgrades, and integrations with other enterprise systems (e.g., payroll, benefits, recruitment). - Data Analytics and Reporting
a. Provides data-driven insights to HR leadership by analyzing workforce trends, turnover rates, employee performance, and other key metrics.
b. Develops and maintains standard and ad-hoc reports for HR management, department heads, and senior leadership.
c. Ensures data accuracy and integrity across all HR systems, using data validation methods and cross-checking sources. - Strategic HR Technology Development
a. Leads the development and implementation of HR technology strategies to streamline processes, enhance employee experience, and improve HR efficiency.
b. Evaluates and recommends new HR technologies or system upgrades based on emerging trends and best practices.
c. Supports HR teams in utilizing technology for tasks such as talent management, performance appraisals, training, and employee engagement. - Compliance and Security
a. Ensures HR systems and data management practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including data privacy laws.
b. Develops and enforces policies regarding the security and confidentiality of employee data, ensuring systems are protected from unauthorized access.
c. Conducts regular audits of HR data to ensure compliance with applicable standards and internal policies. - Leadership and Collaboration
a. Leads and mentors a team of HRIS and HR Operations professionals, providing guidance on best practices, system usage, and problem resolution.
b. Collaborates with HR, IT, finance, and other departments to identify opportunities for process improvement and system integration.
c. Acts as the primary liaison between HR and IT departments, ensuring smooth communication and the effective translation of HR needs into system requirements. - Change Management, Project Management and Training
a. Oversees training programs for HR staff on HRIS and other HR technology tools, ensuring they are equipped to use the systems effectively.
b. Leads change management efforts related to system upgrades or new implementations, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new technologies.
c. Manages multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
d. Assists with special projects related to HR operations and compliance, prepares reports of findings and recommendations as appropriate. - Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
