PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Maintenance technician, under the supervision of the Property Manager is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of all managed properties and office facilities. The primary functional responsibility of the maintenance technician is to perform corrective and preventative maintenance procedures. In addition to this, the position requires coordination and communication with various other staff and managers, outside vendors and contractors, and, on certain occasions, volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Must have the following:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some maintenance experience preferred
- Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance
- Knowledge of construction, plumbing, and electrical knowledge and technical skill set
- Ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization and with those outside the agency
- Ability to represent the agency effectively
- Understanding and appreciation for diverse communities
- Beginner computer skills
- Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50lbs.
WORK CONDITIONS
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, or kneeling, completing work above the shoulder level
- Periods of prolonged walking within facilities, outdoor spaces, etc.
- Ability to ascend/descend a ladder
- Requires ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50lbs.
- Work outside in varying temperatures and weather conditions
- Work inside in resident apartments, administrative office spaces, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
