Title: Compounder
Reports To: Warehouse Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY: Engage in day-to-day blending, mixing, and preparing batches following written specifications/procedures to ensure maximum output at optimum efficiency and in compliance with government regulations, cGMP practices, company policies, and customer specifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and process batches by established specifications and procedures. This includes Cleaning and sanitizing all required chemical processing equipment, pipes, pumps, and tanks. Staging and transferring chemical raw materials. Preparing and operating chemical compounding equipment. Transferring batches.
- Follow written procedures to ensure that GMP procedures accurately complete all documentation, records, and logbooks.
- Maintain proper sanitation, housekeeping, BRC Global Standards for Food Safety and FDA regulations for the Blending/Compounding of all products.
- Maintain a working knowledge of compliance with hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ensure compounding areas are maintained in a clean and well-organized state.
- Always operate forklift according to safe operating rules.
- Operate and troubleshoot chemical processing equipment such as mixers, pumps, and scales. Request equipment maintenance as needed.
- Utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials used.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Fragrance/Flavors Compounder.
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be flexible in dealing with others in the organization and with work assignments/projects.
- Self-organized, Self-motivated; Ability to work independently under supervision.
- Forklift certification is a plus, but I will train.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Time management skills and ability to meet targets.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Must wear steel-toe shoes/boots and protective eyewear.
