Job Summary
Join our outdoor team and help create a welcoming, plant-loving environment for our customers! This role involves assisting customers with plant selections and garden advice, caring for a wide variety of plants including annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs, and maintaining the overall appearance of the garden center. Responsibilities include regular watering, restocking, moving soil and garden supplies, and ensuring healthy, thriving plants. Ideal candidates are friendly, hardworking, and enjoy working outside in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.

Duties

• Ensuring we have healthy, thriving plants
• Assist customers with plant selection and provide knowledgeable advice on gardening techniques.
• Utilize retail sales skills to promote gardening products and services effectively.
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for transactions related to plant sales and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers to ensure a positive gardening experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the garden area, including tools and equipment.
• Monitor plant health, identify pests or diseases, and implement appropriate care measures.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic understanding of retail sales principles and customer service practices.
• Willingness to learn about various plants, gardening techniques, and sales strategies.
• Basic plant knowledge is a plus, but not required.
• Physically fit and able to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to safely lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks related to gardening.
• Positive attitude and a team player.

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
