Job Overview

We are looking for a team-minded Ocean Export Operations Specialist that is passionate about logistics to join our North America team! We are looking for qualified freight operation professionals with a background in freight forwarding that will work remote. The Ocean Export Operations Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, communications and processes related to air and ocean shipments.

Responsibilities and Duties

Open operation files for export shipments

Perform export clearance

Monitor and manage all air and ocean export shipments until completion

Keep customers appraised to the export details of transactions

Communicate with carriers, origin and or destination locations regarding shipment status, special handling, and delivery processes

Ensure accurate customer billing

Communicate to resolve day-to-day issues between overseas, local partners and service providers

Ensure accuracy and completeness of export documentation

Review and verify documentation and obtain any missing documentation from the customer

Assists with ensuring that payable and receivable documents are completed accurately and forwarded within time constraints

Trace shipments through transit points up to departure / confirmed on board and advise customers as needed

Review standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations

Ensures that highest level of data quality and integrity by processing shipment accurately

Report anomalies in operations and new customer requirements to management for decisions on additional service requirements

Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

2-5 years of proven industry experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred

Organized and detail oriented

Excellent communication skills

Experience in ocean export required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office 365 tools

IATA DG and IMDG certified

Experience with CargoWise system software strongly preferred

Compensation

60k - $70k based on multiple factors including but not limited to, years in industry, experience, knowledge in the field, skillset, etc.

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
