JOB SUMMARY
This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing metals processing and distribution work. Work includes specialized equipment operation and / or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for developing and planning production schedules to ensure integration of production capabilities, processes, programs, customer services / commitments and overall efficiencies.
- Provides information and support to purchasing, sales, supervision and management.
- Prepares, coordinates and communicates production schedules with sales and operations.
- Confers with operations to determine status of the production schedule and expedites operations to minimize the impact of scheduled delays.
- Forecasts and monitors inventory and stocking requirements to support production.
- Confirms and / or coordinates inventory transfers.
- Adjusts schedules to accommodate equipment failures, customer demands and other variables.
- Identifies and recommends improvements for increasing productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction and collaborates with cross-functional departments to improve product quality and productivity.
- Works with maintenance to plan efficient shutdowns.
- Monitors progress of production against the master schedule and coordinates breaks in the schedule.
- Manages aged, obsolete, and damaged inventory by working with the operations team.
- Works with vendors to process material claims.
- Responsible for adhering to / ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
