The Water Services Department is seeking an Accountant I who will work directly with the Water Services Department Capital Improvement Program. This position is assigned to the Management Services Division and will be responsible for the encumbering funds for payment on construction projects, journal entries, budget adjustments, and processing and approving construction documents pertaining to the budget supporting the Capital Improvement Program.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize at short notice, and process documents timely and efficiently.
- Ability to solve problems and research workable solutions.
- Ability to collect and analyze financial data such as source documents used for accounting records of initial entry, control accounts, and financial reports.
- Understanding of the City of Phoenix requirements pertaining to processing documents and encumbering funds.
- Technical writing and review capabilities (e.g. policies, procedures, rules, and reports).
- Familiarity with accounting transactions rules, regulations, and internal controls.
SALARY
Pay Range : $23.74 to $40.61 hourly.
Hiring Range : $23.74 to $35.08 hourly.
