ABOUT THIS POSITION Over 48 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2023, one of the busiest airports in the country in the nation's 5th largest city. Sky Harbor is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports) which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an economic impact over $44 billion annually.Each year air travelers and private aircraft are safely routed through Phoenix Deer Valley Airport, which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department. The Airport Operations Technician is responsible for maintaining airport facility conditions to ensure safe, secure, and efficient airport operations. While focusing on delivering exceptional customer services and other duties include : Enforcing city codes along with airport rules and regulations. Performing security checks. Issuing notices of violations. Performing landscape maintenance. Responding to alerts and emergencies. Overseeing contracted service providers. Complying with and enforcing FAA rules and regulations. Providing maintenance or repair of buildings and airfield facilities. IDEAL CANDIDATE Familiar with Federal Aviation Administration rules, regulations, and guidelines. SALARY Pay Range : $20.51 to $36.84 per hour.Hiring Range : $20.51 to $24.93 per hour.Pay Range Explanation : Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification. OR One year of skilled experience in building maintenance and repair work. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted. Experience with airport operations and / or security. Experience providing excellent customer service. Experience providing skilled maintenance at a civilian or military airport. Experience working with aircraft, fueling, or operating heavy equipment. Experience following Federal Aviation Administration rules, regulations, and guidelines.
